A fire door is more than a heavy door leaf. It is a system: the frame, seals, hinges, closer, latch and gaps all work together to hold back fire and smoke for 30 or 60 minutes. If one element is wrong, the whole door can fail an inspection — and fail in a fire.
We fit and repair fire doors to Approved Document B and BM TRADA guidance. That means correct intumescent seals, smoke seals, certified hinges, self-closers that actually close the door, and gap tolerances that an inspector will pass.

New fire doors supplied and fitted with FD30 or FD60 rated leaves, certified frames, intumescent seals, smoke seals, self-closers and three fire-rated hinges.

We repair or replace seals, closers, hinges, locks and handles to bring existing doors back into compliance without the cost of full replacement where possible.
Digital traceability
Every visit is logged with dated photos, itemised checklists and sign-off records. Reports are stored in the cloud so you can prove compliance to agents, landlords or inspectors.
Gap & seal checks
We measure and adjust the critical gaps around the leaf, threshold and frame — the detail that most often causes a fire door to fail an inspection.

Minimum three CE-marked fire hinges; locks and handles do not weaken the door.

Door closes fully and latches from every open position without sticking.
Threshold gaps
Gap at the bottom is within 3–4 mm where a threshold seal is fitted, or 8–10 mm max without.

- Yes. We supply and install certified fire doors in private homes, HMOs, flats and rental properties across Nottinghamshire. Every door is fitted to BM TRADA and Approved Document B guidance, with intumescent seals, smoke seals, self-closers and correct hinges as standard.
- What is fire door remedial work?
- Remedial work brings an existing fire door back to compliance. Common issues we fix are damaged or missing intumescent strips, over/under-sized gaps around the door leaf, failed closers, missing or non-compliant hinges, and doors that no longer self-close or latch properly.
- How do you report and document the work?
- We record every installation and remedial visit using job management software. This gives you a time-stamped, photographic report covering before, during and after works, plus a checklist of every fire-door element inspected or replaced. Reports are stored securely and can be shared with landlords, managing agents or building control.
- How long does a fire door installation take?
- A straightforward replacement in an existing frame usually takes half a day per door. New openings, or doors that need the frame replaced or upgraded, typically take one to two days. We always confirm timings during the site survey.
